3 + 1 TIPS TO AVOID RENTAL CAR TRAPS
If you are interested in renting a car, you should know that there are many companies available - but also many tourist traps! The experienced team of the car hiring brand, RentCar.gr in Heraklion, Crete shares their expertise with you and offer you essential tips to avoid potential mishaps!
1. Make your car rental reservation on time
Last minute bookings often come with higher rental costs due to limited availability. On the other hand, early reservations offer significant discounts and a wider selection of vehicles.
2. Choose the Gold Package*
The gold package includes comprehensive and collision damage, both designed to pay for your vehicle’s damages. Additionally, we recommend the Platinum option, which covers tires and glass—components that are not included by most of insurance companies in Greece.
3. Read the rental terms before signing the contract
We are all impatient to start our holidays, especially when Crete is the holiday destination. However it’s essential to take a moment to read the the rental agreement before signing. A good tip is to avoid choosing a rental company upon arrival at Heraklion Airport but make sure you have done your research beforehand. At the RentCar.gr website we have listed with complete transparency everything you need to know about the car hiring procedure. Feel free to read through our policies at your convenience: Terms and conditions of car rental.
4. Check the fuel level in the rental car tank
When you pick up the vehicle from the car hiring company, either from the airport of Heraklion, or from the port or from anywhere else in Crete, do not forget to check the gas level. Also, make sure you are aware of the car rental’s fuel policy. We follow the most convenient policy for our customers: You do not need to return the vehicle with a full tank, as long as the fuel tank level is the same as it was when picked up.
